What the tools do with your data

• Text you paste and files you open (the story length checker) are counted by your browser and never uploaded or saved.
• Your manuscript details (the manuscript format checker) are used to lay out the pages on screen and to build the RTF file on your device. They are not stored or sent anywhere.
• Your writing log (the 50,000-words pacer) is saved in your browser’s local storage under the name clipnovella-pacer, so it’s there when you come back. It holds your goal, dates, words so far, daily counts and days off.
• Your chapter plan (the chapter planner) is saved in local storage under the name clipnovella-planner. CSV files you import are read on your device; files you export are made on your device.
• Your light or dark choice is saved in local storage under the name clipnovella-theme.
• The scam checklist and the page count calculator store nothing.

Local storage stays in this browser on this device and is never sent to us. To clear it, use “Start over” on the pacer or planner, or clear this site’s data in your browser’s settings.

Analytics

The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies or cross-site tracking and never receives what you type, paste or open in the tools. The site is served by Cloudflare, which, like any web host, handles the requests your browser makes to load the pages.

Links to other sites

Pages link to their sources and to other sites. When you follow a link, that site’s own privacy policy applies.
